May Weekends at Scarborough Museum
May 3 - May 25
May is Museum Month at Scarborough Museum! Visitors are invited to consider the theme of “home” through hidden histories and narratives that shape our community, reflecting on the way that objects can hold memories and culture to connect us to places known and unknown.
Enjoy a refreshing drink and snack prepared on the museum’s historic stove, get creative with hands-on crafts, and learn about new perspectives and ways of imagining museum spaces, revealing histories, and memories that define what home can be.
From May 3rd - 31st, the museum will feature ReDress, a powerful art installation by waⁿdat utrihǫt and multidisciplinary artist Catherine Tàmmaro, in recognition of May 5th, the National Day of Awareness for Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and 2SLGBTQI+ people (MMIWG2S).
