Wednesday Sewing: Aguayo Mini Purse
Apr 9 - Apr 23
Sewing Facilitator, Anita Boey, will guide participants to create their own Mini Purse using Aguayo fabric from Chile. The Aguayo is a rectangular piece of fabric used in the traditional communities in the Andes of Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, Peru and Argentina. The Aguayo is a woven fabric, usually made of llama, alpaca or sheep wool and is traditionally very colourful.
Jamii will provide a small selection of Aguayo fabric for you to choose from, but you are also welcome to bring your own fabric. Each mini purse would need half a yard of fabric. Ghader, our dedicated Sewing Workshop Assistant, will guide you with the fundamental skills of operating a sewing machine while delving into this simple yet captivating project.
